Add products and prices
In this tutorial you create three products, group them as sizes of one product, and make a price list for your wholesale channel.
What you need
- A business with one location. Read Set up your business.
- A permission to manage products. The owner and the
Managerrole have it. - A connected sales channel, if you want to assign the price list to a channel. You can also assign it to a location.
Steps
Create a product
Open the products page and add a product. Enter:
- A title and a SKU, for example "Vanilla ice cream, 500 ml" and
VAN-500. - The product type. Select
FinishedGoodfor a product that you sell. Other types areRawMaterial,Component,Consumable, andService. - The unit of measure, for example
Each. - The switches: sellable, purchasable, and taxable.
- The selling price.
Save the product. Miridia records the price as the first entry in the price history of the product. Miridia never overwrites a price. Each change adds a new entry with its date.
Add the other sizes
Create two more products in the same way, for example the 1 litre and the 2 litre sizes.
Group the products
Open the first product and create a product group. Give the group a name and an option axis, for example "Size". Add the other two products as members, and give each member its option value, for example "1 l" and "2 l".
A sales channel that supports variants receives the group as one product with three variants. A channel that does not support variants receives three separate products.
Create a price list
Open the price lists page and create a list. Give it a title, for example "Wholesale", a currency, and the effective dates. Set the status to Active.
Add an item for each product that has a different price in this channel. A price list holds only the prices that differ from the default. The other products keep their default price.
Assign the price list
Assign the list to a scope. The scope can be a sales channel, a location, a delivery zone, a customer group, or a customer. Select your wholesale sales channel.
Give the assignment a priority. When more than one list applies, the list with the lowest priority number wins.
Check the effective price
Use the price check to see the price that Miridia uses for a product in a given context. Select the product and the sales channel. Miridia shows the price from the winning list. When no list applies, Miridia uses the latest entry in the price history.
